Settings of the Oscilloscope

Aims:

·        To be able to examine signals with an oscilloscope, we have to apply the signal source directly to the input terminal 13 of the oscilloscope (C.R.O.).

·        Before pushing the power button check the following settings:

·        When you have followed the instructions above you should see a horizontal green line on the C.R.O. screen. Maybe you don’t see the green line or it isn’t exactly behind the centre line of the screen. If so, turn the VERTICAL POSITION button 18 until the green line is behind the centre line.

·        If the green line isn’t exactly horizontal but inclined, you have to fix the cathode ray tube. To do so, loosen the two screws A at the back of the C.R.O. a little bit and then turn the screw B until the green line on the screen is “exactly” horizontal. It is important that you hold the screw B while you fix the screws A again!
